4 ways to create a great Valentine's Day party

Posted by Mark Cohen on

Lots of people throw Valentine's Day parties. There are many different ways to make your Be My Valentine party a big hit. Red is the key color of course, and your imagination is the only thing holding you back. If your party is for the kids, your theme should be entertaining and fun. For for the adults, it could be mature, and romantic in nature.

    1. Choose some festive light up Valentine themed barware
Besides Valentine cups, did you know that there are glowing red straws, cocktail stirrers and ice cubes for your drinks? Perhaps, if you are throwing a kids party, pink drinks like a Shirley Temple "mocktail" (simply ginger ale, a splash of grenadine syrup, and a maraschino cherry) for the girls or a Roy Rogers (cola, a splash of grenadine syrup, and a maraschino cherry) for the boys are perfect. There are even light up cherry shaped ice cubes!
        2. String up some twinkly lights
To decorate, you could drape some white, red or pink flashing blinking string lights around the room. They could be regular string lights left from the Holidays, or lights in different shapes, like hearts or flowers. String lights are a beautiful and cost effective way to decorate, and can be re-used in a variety of ways.
            3. Collect your guests Valentine headware
To get the party rolling, offer a variety of flashing entertaining Valentine headwear for your guests to wear. For the girls, princess jeweled crowns, or pink butterfly or Minnie Mouse-type bow headbands. For the boys, hats or Devil horn headbands. For both adults and children, hilarious heart-shaped head boppers will do.
                4. Whip up some snacks

Your Valentine menu should be pink or red in color. Keep the menu simple and quick. Pink champagne colored cupcakes and cotton candy, cherry tomatoes, grapes, strawberry sherbet, watermelon balls, red Twizzlers, red velvet cake, and of course, strawberries with chocolate.

Now that you have your drinks, food and decorations in order you are ready to send out those Valentine party invitations. If you are the old fashioned type, send out those invites by snail mail, otherwise, email or text your friends. Your inspired menu and decor will be a hit. Let the good times roll!
